So You're EnGAYged, a LGBT wedding blog

I feel so lucky to be able to say “I love my job” and mean it! I began my photography career as an undergrad at the University of Michigan, shooting for the student paper. I was hooked instantly, and knew I had found my life’s work. Initially I had visions of traipsing through war zones as a photojournalist, but, much to my parents’ relief, found my niche shooting weddings, portraits, and other events. I learned from some of the best in the field before starting my own studio in 2006.

I love weddings and other big events – honestly, I couldn’t think of anything else I’d rather be photographing. The ritual, the emotion, even the silliness – (I think we’ve all seen “that guy” on the dancefloor) – it just doesn’t get old for me. Call me a total sap, but I thrive on documenting these events in a modern and meaningful way. These pictures will become an archive to share with generations to come – this is something incredibly important to me.

I invest a lot of time, heart, and money into what I do. As an active member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), I am constantly working to excel at my craft. I stay current with the latest trends through workshops, seminars, and other continuing education opportunities.
