Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn’t stop to enjoy it.
~ William Feather

Ever since I was a kid, I have always been visually oriented and vividly imaginative. To this day, I spend my time day dreaming; creating elaborate scenes and even storylines in my head in the greatest of detail. When introduced ever-so-briefly to photography by a friend, I was oblivious to the absolute joy and thrill that would follow. At the time, I knew nothing about aperture, shutter speeds, sensor sizes, ISO, depth of field, or the remaining myriad of camera settings and concepts. All I knew was that I had images thought out in my head that I wanted to show people. After learning everything I could find, I was hooked. “Here is my opportunity to show the world what I see,” I thought; “Here is my opportunity to show the world my dreams.”

My goal is to create a scene in each photo that induces emotions as intense as the moment they were taken. Photos should be more than just a quick, visual representation. They should act as a time machine; taking you back to each moment so you can experience it again and again. A wise man once said that we as photographers spend our whole lives capturing moments in time that may only add up to a few hours. It is because of this that I strive to capture not just colors and shapes, not just people and landscapes, not just kisses and smiles, but the mood and essence of the moment itself, whatever that may be. My photojournalistic style emanates from my desire to capture only photos rich with emotion. I am by choice a photographer of many faces and I refuse to specialize. I view specialization as a limitation to otherwise endless possibilities. Whenever needed, anywhere in the world, and no matter the assignment, I will be there, camera in hand. No photo is more important to me t han the photo that I have yet to take.

I photograph simply for the love of it. I truly love what I do and couldn’t imagine a joy greater than that which I get from behind the lens. I live my life in accordance with William Feather’s quote above; I take life slow, stress-free, and always with a glass half-full approach. The meaning of life is simply to be happy and photography is the path that I have most enthusiastically chosen to get there.
