With the weather just turning over to Spring, a beach wedding was just what I wanted to show. Bright colors, gorgeous sand couple shots and even a starfish tattoo all were captured by Cassie Leah Photography.

From the couple: Our wedding was October 22, 2011 on a beautiful day in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. We choose the option of doing a beach house wedding. In this event, we had to coordinate all the vendors and account for all expenses, because this was not an all inclusive venue. The benefit from this was that we had complete control over every detail and our entire bridal party, including our parents could stay here and not have to worry about traveling. The disadvantage was that we had to strategically plan everything imaginable and purchase or rent everything individually. All in all, the planning went well and on the day of our event, it was nearly flawless! The weather, the atmosphere and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. We were expecting about 100 guests from all over the states from Colorado and New Mexico to New York and New Jersey.

Rainbow rose bouquets- yes, that’s right. You know you want to see the rest of the photos pro-gay vendor Aubrey Greene sent us.

We got married at Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA on a chilly, cloudy, beautiful day surrounded by our families and closest friends. We each had a bridal party of four of our favorite people and created a rainbow theme with their shoes and flowers. The hour or so before the wedding that we got to spend getting ready with our parents, siblings and best friends was a really great way to begin the day and get excited for all of the other things that were to come.

We asked Alyssa’s aunt to perform the ceremony and made a last minute decision to hold it inside so that our guests did not freeze. The ceremony was unique to us and included every person in attendance. After the ceremony, it was all about dessert and dancing. We had cake, an ice cream sundae bar and gigantic, and warm chocolate chip cookies. Guests flowed between the dance floor and the photo booth, which allowed us to capture some awesome memories instantly. The photo booth pictures were pasted in a scrapbook and our guests wrote extra nice notes for us next to their hilarious poses. We really enjoyed looking through the book the next morning.

In the end, despite some seriously stressful moments during the planning phases, our wedding day was exactly what we wanted it to be: unique, colorful, and all about our love!

I’m so excited to share this wedding I shot with So You’re EnGAYged readers. Yes, not only am I a co-founder of So You’re EnGAYged, but I also run my own wedding photography business full-time: Kelly Prizel Photography. And guess what? Lisa and Alex got married in NYC but I also just emailed them to learn they will be getting legally married once the law goes into effect!! So I had to share their fun-filled wedding and can’t wait till they can get that legal marriage certificate.

Thanks to our pro-gay vendor Jennifer Williams for submitting this wedding via Two Bright Lights. It has such a classy but California feel to it.

We wanted to have an intimate Ceremony and a Reception that would be a night to remember! We chose the classic colors black and white so we could showcase the beautiful greenery inside and out of Wayfarers Glass Chapel as well as the ocean view off of the peninsula. The ceremony was set to a soundtrack of current and classic love songs that triggered the emotions of all our friends and family. The ceremony was short and sweet, and at times funny, as our ring bearer ran down the aisle with the ceramic plate we made for our rings (as opposed to the traditional pillow). It did however land safely in one of our best man’s hands as he got to the end of the aisle.

After the ceremony we opted for a toast, as opposed to a receiving line, and sent our guests over to the reception hall. We made our way over to the reception in a white vintage 1962 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II. The cocktail hour featured music by John Legend, Adele, and Michael Buble. We set up the reception inspired by an upscale lounge. We set up lounge seating areas throughout the hall with white lounge furniture, white shag rugs, and white sheers hanging from the ceiling. White calla lilies, and candles helped set the mood. Our guests sipped on our signature cocktails…Hypnotic and Sprite was the clear winner! We did the traditional first dance, family/friends toasts, mother/son dances, and cake cutting.
