Wedding Vendor Guide: Working with Same-Sex Couples

21 Oct

So You’re EnGAYged not only focuses on the amazing couples, both LGBT and allied, who are getting married, but also on the wedding vendor community who helps them put their wedding day together.

Not only do we have a wedding vendor list of vendors, who are screened to ensure they actively support LGBT rights and freedoms, including, but not limited to, same-sex marriage, but we continue to design and implement ways to help the wedding vendor community understand and better work with LGBT couples and their allies.

We are pleased to announce the release of our new Wedding Vendor Guide: Working With Same-Sex Couples.

guidebook-cover1Wedding Vendor Guide: Working with Same-Sex Couples is especially useful for those who want to revamp the language they use on their client-facing materials (website, contracts) and those who have questions about how to interact with their same-sex clients. It goes over what information to share with your staff, what questions to ask your clients about their wedding, and how to be as inclusive as possible in your business.

We are SUPER happy to announce that 25% of profits will be donated to GLSEN, a group that helps promote an atmosphere of equality and support in the school environment for kids. National Coming Out Day and Gay/Straight Alliances in high schools are a direct benefit of their hard work.

Wow you guys! Thank you for doing this! I’m just getting to be a bigger and bigger fan of the amazing women who are the brains behind the soyoureengayged operation. Kudos, you two! Well done– the world needs something like this. Keep up the fabulous work!

I think this is so wonderful. It makes it so much easier when you find your dream vendor, if you don’t have to worry about their reaction to two women marrying.

Thank you, ladies! This is something that we’re very, very proud of. We want to get this out to as many people as possible, so please pass it on! :) More money for GLSEN, too! :)
