DIY Carnival Invitations

25 May

After the DIY Save the Dates fiasco, I decided that I needed to give myself at least a month for the invitations.  I started designing in February and production began at the end of March.  I finished all the gocco, cutting, hole punching, etc in about 3 weeks.  After I mailed everything out, I realized I hadn’t actually taken any pictures.  I had been so consumed with finishing and mailing I forgot about future blog posts.  So here are the couple pictures that I did manage to take.

The front of all of the RSVP cards after I finished goccoing them.

The back of the RSVP card during corner punching.

I measured the envelope, created diagnol stripes in Word, cut just within the line, and then used my corner rounder on the top.

My assembly line for the invitation: listed starting from the back is the invitation, map, schedule of events, and RSVP card.

Threading the name tag (blue circle) and song request (red ticket) with red and white Baker’s Twine.

The invitation package assembled and in the envelope

The details that are missing from the pictures are the goccoed return address, the names on the back of the Ferris Wheel circle, and the painstakingly goccoed invitation (2 screens).

Saw “Carnival” in my reader and I was all, “I am so there!” Love it! This is the ultimate DIY invitation project and it looks beautiful! Ahh…. If I only had the patience…. and a gocco.

Wow..those are awesome. I have gocco machine, but I haven’t found a use for it yet…you just gave me some inspiration.
