How Does Matchmaking Dating Work?

If you are used to using an online dating service you’re going to find matchmaking dating services much different.  How does matchmaking dating work?  Their goal is to find you the perfect match not a long list of random dates hoping that one of them might be someone that you’re interested in pursuing a relationship with.  Let’s take a look at how the process works and whether it is for you.

Getting to Know You

Online dating services are a collection of random people posting a profile and browsing through other profiles to hopefully meet someone.  A matchmaker works differently, instead they take the time to get to know you.  Usually you will meet in person and they will get a feel for what you are looking for in a partner and the things that you don’t like.  Meeting someone for the first time comes with judgments, that isn’t a bad thing.  You notice the type of clothing they wear and how they carry themselves.

A matchmaker will ask you about your life, the goals you have and the background you come from.  This will be things like your profession, your education and the relationships you have had in the past.  They do this with every client that they take on and be prepared to have a background check done that helps to weed out anyone with bad intentions.

The Process

After the initial getting to know you meeting the matchmaker will look for a potential match and see which ones might be a match for you.  They look at things like compatibility and whether you have similar interests and goals.  They will also consider things like personal habits, the lifestyle you lead and similar faiths.  All of these factors are important along with relationship expectations.  Compatibility between two people is everything.

Going on Your First Date

Once the matchmaker has found a potential match then it is time to have the first date.  You don’t have to worry about it being a blind date, the matchmaker will introduce you and stick around to help break the ice.  This is done at a neutral setting like a coffee shop or quiet restaurant where you can relax and enjoy the experience.

What Happens Next

After the initial meet and greet is over then the matchmaker will sit down with each person individually and discuss how they felt about the meeting.  This way you and the other person can be honest about how you feel about the date.  You can honestly tell the matchmaker how you feel about the date and whether you think it was a success or you would prefer to be matched with someone else.

Finding love isn’t always easy but with the help of a matchmaker you can let someone else do most of the work for you.
