Wedding Nightmares

Ms. Sparrow

I have had two wedding nightmares so far.  They have both been related to Save the Date/Invitation mistakes. In the first, J and I were at the right place and all the vendors are there.  However, we had never sent out the invitations or Save the Dates so none of the guests were there. The vendors wouldn’t let us reschedule, so I ran around trying to get people to travel the 4-8 hours to VT so that we wouldn’t have thrown away all our money.

In the second one, I had forgotten it was our wedding day.  I woke up at our venue.  When I went outside, there were lots of people seated for the ceremony.  However they were all casual acquaintances and none of the people we are really going to invite were there.  I had no idea what to do because we couldn’t kick people out, but not having any meaningful people at the wedding would be just as bad.

I think that getting our Save the Dates out the door and in the mail will banish these dreams.  Have you had any?

Not yet, but I think it’s because I spend probably more of my waking hours than is healthy daydreaming about things going horribly wrong in various ways. Cleans it right out of my head so I can have dreams about pet chickens and rollercoasters instead

Everytime I think of something that can go wrong in the day I write in down. Of course I never look at it again so it doesn’t really help. Do the chickens get to ride on rollercoasters? Cause I feel like they would just try to fly out on the way down?

I have only had one nightmare so far. In mine it was the day of our wedding and we were all set to walk down the aisle, and that is when the panic hit! I had just realized that we never discussed the ceremony with the officiant, and we had written no vows!! Hmmm… perhaps we should sit down with our officiant (Nic’s uncle) soon!

Oh that would be no good also. I think it is great that your officant is so closely related. It is what I was hoping for, but we haven’t picked anyone yet.
