So you got to see all the amazing pictures of Stephanie and Mary’s wedding over here this morning. But I literally *just* got an email from Stephanie with a bunch of details about their wedding.

We had been together for ten years and had no doubt about our commitment to each other. However, we wanted to publicly have a wedding not only for us but for our family and friends who have supported us as a couple for so many years. Our wedding was celebration of our relationship and commitment, and also a celebration of our friends and family’s love and support.
For both of us our favorite moment of the day was our “first look”. We went shopping separately for our dresses. Mary went with her mom, Stephanie with her mother and sister. Neither one of us knew what the others dress was like or saw the other one’s dress until the big day. The only thing we knew was that we had somehow out of all the dresses at the bridal store, ended up with different dresses from the same designer. So on the big day our photographer cleared everyone out of the room so it could just be the two of us. After a morning of not being with each other and getting ready separately, turning around and seeing each other for the first time in our dresses was our favorite moment.
We really wanted a romantic intimate feeling to our wedding. The venue itself created the atmosphere we desired with the illuminated glass dome over head. Keeping with the ambiance created by the dome we incorporated many candles. From the floor down the isle, up on window sills and on the guests tables, there were candles everywhere. We also had the rooms draped in soft sheers with amber uplighting. All of this together really created a beautiful scene.
We met several times with the Reverend performing the ceremony. During these meetings we would sit and chat about all sorts of things as she gathered stories about our life together as a couple. It wasn’t until the ceremony that we heard what she had put together. She wove our stories together and shared the experiences of our life over the last ten years. It was the first time for a lot of people to hear some of our stories and experiences we have had as a couple. In addition, Stephanie’s brother, Nate, had sent out an email to our guests asking them to share one of three things: advice for us, a wish for us, or what they felt love was. Read by the guests themselves or by Nate, the responses were very personal, touching and at times hilarious. We never expected to laugh or cry as much as we did during the ceremony.
During the ceremony I had to remind Mary that her wedding ring went on her left hand not her right. She clearly was a little nervous as laughter filled the room.

Sounds like a beautiful wedding…i think it’s sweet that your favorite moment was seeing each other for the first time…so romantic!
So you are living together secretly, eh?
I guess you deserve a publicly known marriage, anyway.
