I wear my hair up every day, so originally I had wanted to wear my hair down for the wedding.  However, I constantly play with my hair when it is down, which is not a good look for pictures.  My next plan was to do a DIY updo I found in Bride magazine.  There were only 4 steps, so I said to myself “Self, how hard could it be?”.

The first 3 steps weren’t bad and then came step 4, pinning up the curls, and it was not possible for me to DIY or DI with J.

Before I looked for more hairstyles, I made a mental list of what I can do, which is braid (yup, hair is not my domain). I googled French braiding and found this picture.  It is perfect. It would keep the hair out of my face, it is still a little fancy, and I can totally do it.

To make it even better, a couple of weeks ago I was talking with my friend and she offered to do my hair for me.  2 minutes later, I had a rough draft and was super happy.  See the eye crinkles in the picture? That is me smiling.

My only problem with this hairstyle is that I cannot have a mini-birdcage veil headband. Putting a headband over the french braids would totally ruin them.  So I need some suggestions. Keep the hair and cut the veil, keep the veil and change the hair, or jimmy rig the veil onto my head with some kind of comb/pin system?

Veil or not, I think the braid-do would look fantastic.

I hadn’t even thought of that option. Mostly because I am a little scared of combs, but I think I might just task my hair friend with puttin it in for me,

Great idea Erica! I’m not adept at all at this kind of thing, but I tried one of those birdcages with the combs, and it was pretty easy to use. Love the braids Ms. Sparrow!!!
