After the ceremony we tried to make our exit from the beach quickly. Once we made it up off the hot sand and onto the boardwalk we were congratulated by several passersby who stopped to watch our ceremony. One of my favorite memories of our big day was being greeted by several fellow lesbians who watched our ceremony from the boardwalk. They all told us how beautiful our ceremony was, and thanked us for doing it. That was something that totally blew my mind, that someone would thank me for having the biggest day of my life out in the open for all to see. It touched my heart that they could share in our joy, and that they were moved by our vows. It is a moment I will always remember.
Eventually, we regrouped at the hotel to take our group photos.
We took few shots with our attendants.
Nicole posed with her Mom and Dad. While she busy posing with her family I practiced my dance moves for the reception with my bridesmaid.
Then I took a few photos with my brothers, and my parents.
After we were all done taking the family photos we headed to meet our guests at the reception, which I will recap in full detail in another post.
Once that was all over we set out on the beach with our photographer Kelly to take some couple shots.
We started out on the jetty… which was tons of fun stepping from rock to rock in our wedding dresses and flip flops.
Even though there were tons of people on the beach that day there was something super romantic about kissing my Wife (still love saying that!) on some rocks out in the ocean. I can still remember the crashing of the waves as we had the first photos of our married life taken.
The only downside to walking practically barefoot on slippery rocks is that you CAN slip on the edge of a rock and cut yourself. Which, being a total klutz I did! So here I am trying to sooth my cut up toe with some salty ocean water. I must have been on a crazy adrenaline rush from the wedding, and festivities because despite my bloody toe I insisted we press on and get the photos! Now I have a cute little scar to remind me of my big day!
So after the incident on the rocks we decided to make our way to the boardwalk for a few more photos.
Isn’t Nicole stunning?! She looked so beautiful! Hands off ladies! She’s married!! :-)

The upside to being a total diva and having three pairs of shoes for my wedding was that when my flip flops were ruined by my cut foot I tossed them aside and switched to my other pair! Crisis averted!
Despite my injury, which hurt far worse once my wedding day high wore off, it was by far the best day of my life!!
