Our day started really early!! Our ceremony was at 11 am and the earliest we could get into the salon was 8am. So I was super nervous that we would not have enough time to get two brides and two bridesmaids ready in time! So we headed over to Gloss Salon in Asbury Park which was just about five minutes from our hotel. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who had a feast of bagels and mimosas all set up!! It was wonderful!

After we scarfed down a few bagels and muffins the team got to work doing our hair. I wanted to play up the vintage vibe and went for a victory curl hairdo. This hairstyle required curling all of my hair… of which I have a LOT!

Nicole wanted something a bit more traditional bridal so they worked her cute hair band into an updo.

Kristin my maid-of-honor and best friend got an adorable updo as well.

While we were getting our hair done Krystal my bridesmaid and soon-to-be sister-in-law got her makeup done.

Krystal’s makeup came out great! The salon uses an airbrush to apply the foundation and it really looks so flawless! I highly recommend it.

The final spray and Nicole’s Hair was done! She headed over to get her makeup done while they finished up my curls.

When I had my makeup trial done the makeup artist talked me into doing pinup girl style makeup. I don’t wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, and one thing I rarely wear is lipstick. Part of the pinup girl look involves bright red lipstick which took some getting used to, but in the end I loved the way it looked!

Hair and makeup: CHECK! Now we had to run back to the hotel and throw on our dresses!!

Here they are… the long awaited dress shots!!

I loved the way the paper flower bouquets came out!! Everyone said they looked real!

The moment I put that dress on was by far the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life! Nicole looked amazing I will never forget how beautiful she looked that day!

I have to say that the most stressful time of the whole day was getting into our dresses. I felt like we had no time to get ready, it was so hot in the room, and lacing up Nicole’s dress was like doing a puzzle! I wouldn’t change anything… not one bit! I cherish every moment of that day! Even fighting Krystal for a few minutes in front of the air conditioning vent!

All photos by the so very talented Kelly Prizel, and there are LOTS more photos to come!
