Prepare yourself people- this is just the first half of this wedding all sent over by Jenny GG.
Our wedding was perfect! We had beautiful weather, a lovely location, friends and family helping with every aspect of it including making our own boutonnieres, centerpieces and bouquets from flowers from the farm across the street; setting up the tables and all the place settings ourselves; Audrey had a friend doing hair and makeup for all her attendants; and we had friends setting up decorations, DJing and emceeing. We had a touching personal ceremony and lots of great food and dancing! Our wedding turned into such a party, and everyone from the bartender to the guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to (do people tell that to everyone?).
We both felt so loved by everyone this day. Our friends and families that were there are truly amazing and supportive and loving and we really couldn’t have wished for a more wonderful day to celebrate with everyone.

What was your favorite moment of the day?
I really loved my father walking me down the aisle. I loved that I was supposed to be a “surprise” when I walked out and down the aisle and when I came out and headed down everyone gasped…or maybe that was because I tripped and stumbled actually. : ) It was so awesome though to see everyone who was there smiling and being so very happy for Erica and I. My mother’s smile was so big, and my father seemed so proud to be escorting me down the aisle. Erica was beaming at me, and my cheeks hurt I was smiling so big. This was definitely a top moment for me on our wedding day.

How did you make your ceremony meaningful for the both of you?
We met with Michael Ingersoll from the Center for Spiritual Living and went over what we were hoping to have in our ceremony. He sent us a few examples of past ceremonies he had done and we told him what aspects of each we liked and what we didn’t like. On our own, we chose readings that were personally meaningful and even had a friend write something special for us. We also had a personal story to share involving a wishbone and making a wish for our life together as a couple. The story involved some history about wishbones and how they ended having a special significance to us. We even had a wishbone breaking during the ceremony. Michael incorporated our readings, the theme of journey and our special wishbone story into a beautifully tied together ceremony. We also had a “wedding contract”, an custom borrowed from Quaker weddings. This contract has our vows printed on it. We signed it during the ceremony as did our immediate families. During the reception, all the guests were invited to sign it as well. Our wedding/marriage wasn’t legally recognized, but this document has over 100 signatures stating that our friends and families witnessed our exchange of vows and will stand by and support us in our life together. This was deeply significant to the both of us and I think to all who attended and signed it. This beautiful document (designed by a friend and incorporating a wishbone drawing) is hanging in our home for us to reflect on daily.
Favorite Moment of the day for Erica: “The reveal” – when we first saw each other all dressed up and ready to be together for the rest of the day. The several hours leading up to it, with the assistance of our attendants and several good friends, I busily coordinated the set up of the barn, tables, place settings, floral arrangements, cupcake table, DJ space, pre-ceremony appetizers and that days lunch for all of our helpers, all while Audrey had her hair and make up done and slipped into her dress. Once we were all dressed in our formal attire, we got to see each other. It gave us a private moment to see each other all fancied up, reflect on all the hard teamwork that had gone into planning our wedding and also just come together to focus on only each other before the incredible celebratory
whirlwind of the day began.

So fun and so beautiful. Congratulations!
