Alison and Heather’s wedding is a week long series, part of our Real Gay Wedding blog posts.
First look- Tranquil
We had our portraits taken before the ceremony as a result of our married friend’s advice which was, “Whatever you do don’t miss your cocktail reception!”
Since I was running two hours behind schedule, our photo session was pretty much cut in half. But Jen, our awesome photographer, wasn’t miffed and off we went to snap some photos.

Apparently while I was busy being late to my own wedding, almost everything that could have gone wrong did and Heather was the only one who could take care of things. If mitzvahs are any indication of success, our marriage should last for all of eternity…it rained all day, a very large glass jar had shattered and the food for one of our tables was all wrong. She took it like a champ and never let on that there were any problems when we finally saw each other.
When I saw Heather for the first time that day I thought to myself, “wow she looks super cute” and the thought that followed was, “I’m glad we are finally together, let’s do this thing!” She instantly brought calm to my innermost being and from the moment I laid eyes on her I could not stop smiling.

Since we were so behind schedule, everyone was driving in to the station while we were having pictures taken out front. I was so excited to see everyone I kept waving at the cars that drove by filled with our family. I forgot no one was supposed to see me before I walked down the aisle. Whoops…

Since we got married at a train station, a photo on the tracks was only appropriate.

I love this photo-we used it as the stamp when we sent out our thank you cards-check it out on the details post! You can make your own custom stamps at www.zazzle.com.
Once the photos were done it was time to get married!

I think both of your outfits are beautiful. Where did you get that dress and the vest? Thanks and congrats on a gorgeous day, can’t wait to see the rest!
Thanks Leanne! I got my Dress at David’s Bridal if you can believe it. Heather got her vest and pants at Express Men. We had to have it tailored to fit her.
I love your photos so much I am going to show them to our photographer so he has an idea of some of the shots that would be lovely!
