We met while working together in Eastern Oregon. We were great friends for about a year or so before either of us revealed our feelings for the other. Our first Kiss was on January 8, 2004…and the rest is history, so to speak. We exchanged rings in a private ceremony (just the 2 of us) on the beach on May 8, 2004. We always both knew that we wanted to have a larger celebration of our relationship that would include family and friends. However, at that time, we were already celebrating 2 anniversaries a year, and didn’t think we should add a 3rd! So…we got out a calendar to figure out the next time that May 8th would fall on a Saturday. When we saw that it was almost 6 years away, we were fine with that. We figured it would give our families time to get used to the idea.
We also have decided to change our last names. We used letters from both of our “maiden” names, and came up with Hart. Because we do want to have children in the future, it was important to us to have the same last name.
Time has flown by….and our wedding is now only a month away! We have both been touched by the number of people who have told us that they are honored to be invited to our wedding, and by the number of people attending. We did not expect such a warm response, and are feeling truly blessed!
