Thanks *again* to Jenny GG for submitting these engagement pictures…she’s on a roll with amazing LGBT weddings/engagement sessions!

Stacey and I met on craigslist. Stacey posted what she called a “demanding” post. She put it all out there making sure that people knew that she was looking for something serious, something long term with a house and dog and picket fence in the future. She wanted the “whole enchilada!”

I found her post refreshing from all the others, because she wasn’t afraid to put it all out there. It was also all the things I was looking for too and I decided to be brave and respond to her post.

We met a week later and the rest is history. She is the most amazing and wonderful woman. She has such a big heart and kind way about her – Everything I never thought I would ever be able to find in my life. All our friends tease us for being so cute and in love!

I proposed to Stacey on her birthday weekend. First I asked her parent’s permission the month before. Then I took her to the ocean for a beach getaway surprise. When we got to this secluded, empty part of the beach, I asked her to sit down on a log and then got down on my knees and completely stumbled all over my words! Eventually I got the question out and she said YES!

We are planning to go up to Vancouver, B.C. the day before our ceremony with our families to get our license and get married legally. Then the next day we will have an evening ceremony in the park across the street from our home with all our family and friends, with a reception following in Queen Anne. We each only have one person standing up with us – Stacey will have her little sister I will have my little sister. Our very close friend (we consider him family) will be our officiant. There will be a flavor of Seattle throughout all our décor and such, since there will be family coming from Chicago and Boise. We wanted to give them a taste of the city we live our lives in. There will be a buffet dinner that includes salmon! With wine, great music and lots of dancing, it’s sure to be awesome fun! We feel so blessed with all our supportive friends and family.
