First of all, I want to thank everyone who participated in the survey. It’s been an incredible weekend, going through each and every response and reading your fantastic ideas. A lot will be growing and changing on So You’re EnGAYged because of it – and we definitely couldn’t do this without your support and feedback!
Who responded?
We expected to have an overwhelming number of American respondents, and were pleasantly surprised by the number of Canadian and non-North American respondents as well!
Your relationships
We were surprised by the number of single and married folk who come to the site for inspiration!
You guys are all over the map in terms of how far you are into your engagement, but again, check out how many of you aren’t engaged!
These next two questions are my favorite of the entire survey; it was phenomenal to read all of your responses as to how you and your partner identify. There were too many to list here, but I hope that the wedding vendor community can begin to understand exactly how many different ways we identify.
Your internet habits
It’s important to us to know how you use the internet so that we can connect with you and make the site as easy to use as possible for you. We were surprised at how many of you don’t use Twitter!
We were correct, however, in our hunch that many of you don’t necessarily visit the site to get our content, but do read So You’re EnGAYged through our RSS feed.
We also were interested in knowing if you’re regular blog readers:
And we were pleasantly surprised at the chunk of you that don’t read wedding blogs regularly, but do read this site!
Last but not least, we’re going to be changing the way So You’re EnGAYged does advertising soon, and we want to make it as unobtrusive but still useful for our readers as possible. So this last statistic was particularly important to us!

We learned a ton about you, your weddings, how you use this site, and so much more. We want to thank you sincerely for your honest feedback about how we can improve, and give you a hint about a few things that are coming up next in the life of So You’re EnGAYged:
- searchable vendor listings (by zip code, LGBT owned, and more!)
- more DIY
- more budget-focused posts
Other feedback we heard but we need your help with:
- more international content – if you’re abroad, please send us your engagements and weddings!
- more non-lesbian-focused content – we would LOVE to add more diversity to our group of bloggers – Kelly will be posting soon about who we’re looking for!
- more vendors – if you have a wedding vendor that you love, please encourage them to apply!
