So if you read my last post on the hunt for the perfect dress you know that I was missing out on the whole ‘THIS IS THE ONE’ moment. Nicole and I placed orders for the dresses we liked the most after a few trips to David’s Bridal, and a few other dress shops. I liked the dress I had picked, but it just isn’t the dress I dreamed of wearing. I knew I wanted something tea length, 50′s style, could work with funky colored crinoline and comfy for a beach wedding in June. The dress I purchased was pretty, but really had none of those qualities. It was simply the best I could find in my size. Which is what I deal with a lot of the time with anything plus-sized. So we got a call from David’s saying that our dresses had come in way ahead of schedule. I went to the site to see if I could find a list of charges for their altering service because I was seriously considering shortening the dress I bought, when I noticed that they had a brand new crop of dresses for 2010. I decided to take a peek just for kicks, and there it was… my perfect dress. It had everything going for it: tea length, all lace, room for crinoline, and it looked super comfy. So I decided that when we went to pick up the dresses I would try on the dress I purchased, and the new dress just to see how it looked. As soon as I stepped out from the dressing room my heart swelled, and I knew this was my dress!!!
Imagine it with a pool blue sash, aqua crinoline, and a sheer shawl… it’s perfect!
So I guess all those girls on TV aren’t faking it when they swoon over the perfect dress… you just have to wait it out until you find “the one.” I feel pretty lucky to not only have found “the one” I will love for the rest of my life, but also “the one” I will wear when I make that pledge!

LOVE! I actually went into David’s Bridal to pick up a bridesmaid dress and saw that exact dress and was like ‘WOW! That’s so hot!”
With an aqua sash and crinoline, it’s just going to be even hotter.
That is the perfect dress for a ocean-front wedding. It looks so good on you! I cannot wait to see the aqua crinoline. Are you going to make it yourself? Also as a fan of colored sashes, the pool is going make the dress even awesomer!
What a great dress! You are going to look awesome! So happy you found what you were looking for!
Aw, I’m glad you guys like it too!! I’m no longer sad the dress hunt is over and now I just can’t wait for it to come in! I am also a huge fan of the sashes, so all of my attendants will be wearing one as well! I thought about trying to make the crinoline myself, but I already have so many projects on my plate I thought I would just spend the money to buy this one. I found a really cool Etsy seller that makes really cool retro dresses and crinolines to go under them. This is the one I like most: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35753825
What do you guys think?
Oh, I love the ribbon trimmed crinoline. That’s gonna look SO good with your dress!
I like the ribbon one also, but I love the multicolored ones too.
@Wasabi are you getting one also, because isn’t your dress teh same length-ish?
@Mrs. Sparrow I thought about it, but decided not too after trying the dress on. I think colorful shoes will work better with my dress. So, now I’m on the hunt for bright green, peep toe heels!
Okay, so these aren’t bright green, but I saw them and then fell in love last week. Since I don’t have a dress yet and yours shows your shoes off, I think you should get these http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3059319?cm_cat=datafeed&cm_pla=shoes:women:pumps&cm_ite=seychelles_%27tippy_toes%27_pump:274149&cm_ven=Linkshare&siteId=Hy3bqNL2jtQ-cnH1qMJM9jG2ZVCchxto7Q
I know they are teal, but I think they would look awesome with your dress.
Mrs. Sparrow- You are awesome! Fun shoes! Might just have to take your advice…
Okay I am super jealous, but the shoes are on sale on gilt fuse right now for $45! I think it is a sign.
Awesome dress!
I love the ribbon trimmed etsy crinoline.
I LOVE the crinoline. How fun! Now I’m a teensy bit jealous that my dress is floor-length. :)
