A little background tidbit about me.  When I was a child, I refused to wear jeans.  When asked why, I simply stated that they were “too casual.”  I like a little sparkle.

As an adult, I don’t have occasion to glam it up very often.  So, getting to shop for fancy attire has been one of the most fun parts of wedding planning.  I have a particularly close aunt who has been my shopping buddy since forever.  As soon as I got engaged, she offered to buy my dream dress and we hit the stores.  Turns out my dream dress is much less expensive than we anticipated.  How often does that happen???  This is a great surprise and made us feel justified in buying some drop-dead gorgeous shoes.

The problem is- super fancy, cruelty-free shoes are hard to find! All the stunning shoes I’ve come across seem to have leather linings.  There is a huge disconnect between the styles that I like…

Christian Louboutin

Stuart Weitzman

Badgley Mischka

…and available vegan options.  I’m finding plenty of cute everyday shoes but no special wedding shoes.  Basically, six year old me is screaming, “too casual!”

So, the hunt continues.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I know I’m not the only animal lover searching for cruelty-free wedding attire!  I’m pretty open on the issue of color, since I don’t mind if they blend or pop.  So, all suggestions welcome!

What about going with a plain-ish shoe, and then adding a cute shoe clip/other shoe accessory to give it some more sparkle? I assume you’ve already tried mooshoes.com, but they had some pretty options.

I saw this of Off Beat Bride a while back, they aren’t “super fancy” but it may open up some doors to finding cruelty-free shoes

Have you tried mooshoes.com? Or alternativeoutfitters.com? Or ebay?

Natalie Portman and Te Casan had a vegan line of fancy shoes a while back, maybe you can find some for sale online still. Stella McCartney’s shoes are all vegan too.

Alternative Outfitters has some nice shoes. Also you could always get a pair and then use glittery fabric paint to make them fancy. And I totally feel you on the sparkly louboutins.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll keep you posted on what I find or if I end up attempting a DIY project.

Oooooh, Beyond Skin has some pretty satin pumps that would look great with some sort of sparkly embellishment. Now I have two contenders.
