There wasn’t an official cocktail hour at our wedding.  There was a half an hour, which ended up being 45 minutes before dinner was served.  During that time, the bar was open and we had a popcorn machine on the back porch of the event barn.

After the ceremony, everyone followed us up to the tent. Our friend who was in charge of the iPhone for the ceremony music,  turned on the wedding playlist

.

I really love these pictures of everyone making there way up to the reception, it feels like a parade to me.

Once in the tent, people could do one of several things:

1. Find their seating assignments.

2. Get a beer (that was my first priority)

3. Relax on the patio with said drink

4. Get some popcorn in a ridiculously cute bag

5. Take pictures in our “photobooth”

Baby has a moustache!

6. Get a non-alcoholic drink. The Mango Lassi were super tasty.  They did stop up the plug about halfway through the reception because they were too creamy.

The one sour note of the pre-reception was the officiant.  I had previously asked her the cost of her services in an email and she ignored the question. She choose after the ceremony as the time to remind me about payment.  When I asked her the exact cost of services, she wouldn’t tell me a number.  I had to consult with Vicki the next day, who asked her for me and was told it was $100. It seemed like very poor customer service to me.

Thanks for sharing it all, the highs and lows. It’s so cool to see all those DIY projects in action! Everything looks even better than I had imagined.

Everything looks so lovely! So romantic!

Thats a shame that your officiant was not only late but also decided to speak with you on your wedding day about payment

Wow, that’s really rude that your officiant decided to talk to you on your wedding day about the fee (especially after showing up late!) but truly bizarre that even when she brought it up, she wouldn’t tell you the amount. Fortunately, $100 seems like a very reasonable amount to me, but it’s still really strange to not be upfront about it ahead of time.

I was really surprised about the officiant, but since that was the worst thing, I cannot really complain. Thanks for all the nice words
