So, I’ve done it: I’ve bought my wedding dress. My wedding dress for the UK wedding. I’ve also found (to be ordered) my wedding dress for the CA wedding. Yes, I am having two wedding dresses. Two’s a theme.
The best part: I wasn’t even trying to find a dress, let alone the dress or two dresses. I just did. And it was magnificent. I give all the credit to The English Department in Portland, OR. The owner and designer, Elizabeth Dye, was there when two of my best college friends and I arrived looking to see if they had any “white dresses.” I didn’t know it was a bridal shop!
I pulled a few from the rack, but nothing was really fitting until Elizabeth suggested “Dana” by designer Jenny Yoo. The girls and I fell in love.
That was Tuesday of last week. I went back on Friday to buy it. While it is shown here in “Garnet,” mine is in “Snow”–otherwise known as champagne color that looks nothing like snow. More pictures when it’s back in England with me as I’m having the straps changed to a wider style….So excited!
The next best part, the same designer totally has THE perfect dress for the CA wedding. Like the one I’ve been dreaming of–in red. I can’t wait til this one is all mine as well. Bring on 2010!

I totally heart your dress. It’s short and poppy red?? TOO hot.
I love these Jenny Yoo dresses, especially the short one! It’s such a great line, modern and affordable.
As I also want to be a color-dress bride, I have noticed that bridesmaid dresses are a great option. I love the short one. it is so adorable
