I’m not sure when I decided we should take enagement photos, but once the idea was in my head I just couldn’t shake it. And damn, am I glad we did: they turned out beautifully!
Wyatt Olson–photographer, guitarist and family friend–took our engagement photos for us near my hometown in Northern California. Wyatt started snapping couples in love in 2007 and he’s penciled us in his calendar for our California wedding in October 2010.
As for our photo session on Thursday, we started out awkwardly in the park, but hit our stride when we found the train tracks. The three of us had so much fun walking along and exploring the abandoned cars–and trying to look in love (and not frightened!) while sat on old dusty leather seats! Here are just a few we’ve gotten so far.
These pictures are beautiful. They’re making me re-think my original “no” position on engagement pictures.
Having engagement pictures done really is a great idea so you can 1. Get to know the photographer doing your wedding and get a feel for style 2. Getting used to being in front of the camera 3. Who doesn’t love more pictures of themselves as a couple ;)
