Rikki and Julie got married on a super hot day in Iowa on August 8th. With a modern, fun look, Rikky and Julie had splashes of pink and black.
Julie’s favorite moment of the day was when I walked down the aisle, it was a huge tearjerker for her, she started crying the moment the music played. My favorite moment, was staring back at her while she waited at the aisle. The look on her face said it all.
We loved it all. I really really loved the Jr. Bridesmaid’s flower balls, I just thought they were SO cool. Overall, the colors, I just loved how well everything came together. It was modern, and beautiful, and In budget!
Well I wrote the WHOLE ceremony from scratch, so that it was exactly what we wanted it to be. It was at 7p and the sun was set just right, the weather was amazing. Julie and I were on concrete in heels! Julie’s not a heels wearer so the second we were both at the alter, we kicked them off, and stood barefoot. We had a great playlist for the ceremony, but with out minor complications, the music player didn’t want to play. And in the middle of the vows we wrote to each other our dog started barking! And then for the kiss, well we had two. A nice one, and then I wanted what we call the Vegas kiss, and went in for the kill. It was hysterical! The whole thing flew by 35mins, seemed like 5! But it was perfect, and VERY us. And everytime I look at the sand on my mantle, I remember all the moments of the ceremony.
A long time family friend preformed the wedding ceremony. She’s not one for speaking in front of people, but she was honored to do it. She was really great!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Magical, Modern, Elegant, and I have to have a fourth, loving. The whole day was filled with it!
