What do our initials + old letterpress stamps+ open air market = ? Awesomely adorable. Awesomely adorable what, though, it what we’re still trying to figure out.
Spitfields Market in East London is an open air market under a gorgeous Victorian glass roof that prides itself in antiques, vintage, fashion and art. We walked in to find boxes of old brownie cameras, well-worn fidoras and, adorably, tins and suitcases and displays of used and inked letterpress stamps. A writer and printing geek wanna-be, my fingers were already prizing each one in my hand and examining them closely. Adorably in love, Alex was already looking for our initials.
‘A & E’ being something we often go by, I quickly copped on to what she was doing and starting scouring the box, too, for A’s, E’s and the wonderful ampersand (&) amidst all the sizes, fonts and inky conditions. Luckily, our names both start with popular vowels.
After humming and hawing over different fonts, we chose these ones. (I like the Western-ish look of the ‘E’ and the height of all the blocks.)

So far, the list of possible uses of adorable antique letterpress stamps at our wedding are:
