The one vendor I am having a hard time finding is the bartender.  We have already decided to serve just beer and wine to cut down on costs.   Besides I am not sure that hard liquor really compliments Indian food.  From what I understand, Vermont has strict liquor laws meaning that we cannot buy it ourselves and hire someone to serve the booze.

Our site vendor recommended a bar that also has bartenderers for hire.  I had just assumed that we would use them, so I put off calling.  When I finally called last week, I was unpleasantly surprised.  First off, he wanted to charge me $3.50 for cheap domestic beer (Bud, Coors), $4.50 for Corona or similar, and $5 a glass for house wine.  Second, he called me honey multiple times, which I really hate unless you are a waitress diner.  I am still flabbergasted at the prices.  It seems that if you are having an event, prices should be cheaper than if I was to go to a bar in DC not during happy hour.

Has anyone else run into this problem?  Any suggestions where I look for a more reasonable bartender?  Or are these normal prices?
